Position Summary

The Laboratory Assistant will help support the daily operations of the Cell Therapy Process Development Lab, reporting directly to the Laboratory Operations Manager. This position is ideal for someone with an interest in cell and gene therapy, looking to gain hands-on experience in a biotech environment. The Laboratory Assistant will assist with a variety of laboratory tasks, including sample handling, materials management, equipment maintenance, and documentation, to ensure the smooth operation of the lab.

Responsibilities

• Receive, process, and manage biological samples, including fresh, frozen, and cryopreserved cell lines; ensure proper labeling, documentation, and storage in accordance with established protocols.
• Maintain and monitor cryogenic storage systems (e.g., liquid nitrogen dewars) by performing regular inventory checks, refilling as necessary, and logging all activity accurately to ensure sample integrity.
• Prepare samples for internal assays or external shipments, including coordination with external vendors or collaborators, generating packing lists, and ensuring compliance with all shipping regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline preferred.
• Previous lab experience or internship in a biotech/pharma lab setting is a plus!
