Position Type: Secretarial/Clerical/Executive Secretary Date Posted: 5/29/2025 Location: Everton Elementary School Elementary School Secretary Summary: Serves as confidential secretary to the principal by performing secretarial duties to assure the smooth and efficient operation of the school building by relieving the principal of clerical and routine correspondence, phone calls, and daily office management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned Greets visitors, answers telephone, takes messages, ascertains nature of business, and gives routine information to callers, visitors or routes to appropriate person. Types, prepares, distributes, files documents such as student records/reports, correspondence, various mailings, school newsletters/flyers related to building functions and principal needs. Maintains confidential files and school records such as student records and employee files at the building level. Prepares federal/state/local reports for the principal as needed. Prepares outgoing mail, reads and routes incoming mail. Welcomes and orientates substitute teachers. Processes attendance/payroll forms and/or records for the building staff. Schedules use of building. Orders, processes, and maintains office supplies and equipment. Administers first aid and medication according to policy and regulations as needed. Operates standard office equipment. Performs any record keeping and bookkeeping tasks associated with the specific position. Participates in inservice training as stipulated. Maintains own regular and prompt attendance. Maintains appropriate appearance. Promotes good public relations for the School Corporation and community. Remains free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the corporation. Effectively completes other job tasks as assigned.
