Truck Driver- Heavy Equipment

Company Overview:

Queen City Railroad Construction, Inc operates as a railroad construction contractor for building and repairing railroad tracks primarily in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and Southern regions of the United States

Job overview:

An ideal candidate would have working knowledge and experience with transporting heavy equipment


Responsibilities:

• The transport driver will be hauling heavy construction/ railroad equipment to various jobsites
• Loading and unloading various types of heavy construction/railroad equipment.
• Perform pre trip and post trip inspection of trucks, trailer and equipment in accordance with Company policy and DOT regulations
• Verifies transportation permits to ensure that specifications for overweight and oversize loads/ equipment are accurate
• Follows all required safety policies and procedures

Requirements:

• Ideally the candidate would have at least three years (3) years of work experience in hauling heavy construction equipment.
• Class A CDL.
• The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must have, or be able to obtain a DOT medical Card.
• Weekly overtime and/or weekend workdays may be required
• Knowledge of equipment operations and safety aspects of loading and unloading required
• Lift/carry or push/pull equipment and other objects weighing up to 75 pounds
• Must have a clean driving record
• Pass a background check and drug screening
