If you want to work with the most talented people on Earth furthering space exploration for humanity, come join us.Vast is looking for a Supervisor of Soft Goods Manufacturing, reporting to the Sr. Director of Manufacturing, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location. Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a team of soft-goods fabrication technicians.Conduct daily team meetings to communicate goals and expectations.Coordinate work schedules and assignments to optimize productivity. Ensure aerospace industry quality standards are followed. Implement and oversee quality control measures. Continual optimization of soft-goods fabrication for efficiency. Collaborate with engineering teams and other departments for process improvements. Coordinate repairs with the maintenance teams in a timely manner. Enforce safety protocols in the soft-goods fabrication manufacturing space. Identify training needs for the team. Develop and foster strong relationships with upper management.Ensure purchase orders are accurate with no cost overruns.Coordination to meet with the Vast end user and establish the scope of work.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.3+ years of experience working in a soft-goods manufacturing space. Preferred Skills & Experience:Proven leadership abilities with a track record of team management. Previous experience in a supervisory role in manufacturing environment.Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Commitment to safety, quality, and adherence to standards. Ability to analyze data and implement process improvements. Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and drive innovation within the organization.Knowledge of aerospace grade fabrics and sewing experience.Ability to work independently and as a team member, maintaining composure, and working effectively in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities.A good work ethic, attention to detail, and high level of personal integrity.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make timely decisions.Effective communication and collaboration skills.Comfortable working in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time, and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction.Additional Requirements:Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones.Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted.Salary Range: California$82,000-$115,000 USDCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITSBase salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand.
