Sous Chef – My Greek Plate (Cochrane Alberta)
Two Full and Two Part-Time Positions | Competitive Pay of $16-21/hr. | Authentic Greek Cuisine

We’re looking for experienced and motivated Sous Chefs to join our team at our beloved Greek restaurant in the heart of Cochrane Alberta. Join us in creating vibrant dishes in an engaging family-style atmosphere!

As Sous Chef, you'll work directly with our Head Chef, as well as lead independently when needed, to ensure smooth kitchen operations, uphold the highest standards of quality and consistency, and bring authentic Greek and Mediterranean dishes to life for every guest who walks through our doors. We have big ambitions for expanding our operations and are looking for people who would be excited to help us create and explore new ways to delight our customers.

 

What You'll Do:

• Bring energy for finding optimizations and sharing best practices in a team environment
• Collaborate on seasonal menu development and specials
• Assist in kitchen operations including: prep, cooking, plating, and quality control
• Ability to manage the kitchen independently should the head chef be unavailable 
• Help manage inventory, ordering, and kitchen cleanliness
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen that meets health & safety standards

 

What We’re Looking For:

• 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or managing a full-service kitchen
• Culinary diploma or formal training is a plus but not required
• Solid understanding of Greek/Mediterranean cuisine or a willingness to learn
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to multitask in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Must be able to transport up to 50 pounds on occasion and up to 25 pounds regularly and ability to stand and walk for long periods
