We are seeking enterprising full stack software engineers with experience developing web and/or Android applications.

The ideal candidate enjoys development as a hobby, exploring new web frameworks and languages, and is meticulous about their code. Contributing to open-source projects, experience with unit testing, continuous integration, and test-driven development are a plus.

This position is based at Sony Electronics U.S. Headquarters in San Diego, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain high-quality web services and applications.
2. Build scalable, high-throughput, low-latency cloud solutions.
3. Write unit tests as part of the development process.
4. Design APIs using RESTful and gRPC patterns.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.

Qualifications:

1. Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Golang, Python, Typescript, Rust, or Javascript.
2. Experience writing unit tests as part of the development process.
3. Familiarity with defining and validating data types using JSON Schema or Protocol Buffers (protobuf).
4. Solid understanding of RESTful and/or gRPC design patterns.
5. Experience building cloud solutions for high throughput and low latency.
6. Strong understanding of client-server architecture and web services.
7. Familiarity with serverless architectures and AWS.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience contributing to open-source projects.
2. Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, or AWS CDK.
3. Exposure to AI/ML models or training frameworks.
