Job Description
A school in La Crosse, WI, is seeking an experienced onsite Sign Language Interpreter for the 2025-2026 school year. This contract position supports elementary school students and requires specialized experience working with students with Down Syndrome.
Key Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in educational settings
- Prior work with students diagnosed with Down Syndrome
- Strong skills in ASL and an understanding of diverse communication needs
- Ability to work onsite throughout the school year (NSY contract)
Location: La Crosse, WI
Responsibilities:
- Provide clear and effective sign language interpretation for elementary students, facilitating communication in the classroom and other school activities
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to accommodate the unique needs of students with Down Syndrome
