Job Title: Robotics Software Engineer

Location: Fremont, CA

Duration: 18 Months (With possible extension)

Payrate: $90/hr. to $103/hr.

Travel: Occasional (several times per year)

About the Role:

We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Robotics Software Engineer to join our high-energy, collaborative team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a startup-like environment and is eager to contribute to a variety of technical areas, from robotic path planning and computer vision to user interface development and hardware prototyping .

You’ll work directly with engineers across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines to design, build, and refine special application robotic systems using 6-axis robots. Your work will have a direct impact on new and unreleased products with real-world applications.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop advanced robotic path programming and computer vision algorithms .
• Collaborate across teams to design, test, and optimize robotic systems and end effectors .
• Build modern user interfaces (UI) to control and monitor robotic functions.
• Create tools and infrastructure to manage and analyze data from robotic and vision systems.
• Participate in lab-based prototyping, testing, and iteration (majority of work will be onsite).
• Travel for occasional field deployments and collaborative efforts.
• Lead or support engineering investigations using tools like 8D and root cause analysis.
• Document findings and solutions through clear and concise reporting.
• Mentor junior engineers and support cross-functional initiatives.
• Apply Lean/Six Sigma principles to enhance process control and production efficiency.

What We’re Looking For:

• BS/MS/PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 10–15 years of experience in robotics, automation, or related fields.
• Proven expertise in robotics and computer vision .
• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, OpenCV , and frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch .
• Experience with web development tools: JavaScript, React.
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git preferred).
• Understanding of statistical process control and production metrics.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver individual projects .
• Experience developing and maintaining SDKs or APIs .
• Bonus: Experience in mechanical engineering or robotic hardware prototyping.
