Engr: Sony Electronics Inc. is seeking Sr Firmware Engr in San Diego, CA. Duties incl: design & dvlp firmware for advanced image sensor technology. Verify firmware via unit testing & sys level testing. Implement specs received from digital & analog eng'rs. Telecommuting/work from home permitted. Must have Master's or equiv in Comp Eng'g, Electrical Eng'g, CS, or rel field. Must have following exp: C Prog'g; Basic Python Prog'g; Basic Bash/Shell scripting; embedded sys's; firmware design verification & automated testing; softw unit testing; bare-metal firmware dvlpmt; ARM architectures; SPI & I2C protocols; state machine dvlpmt; firmware algorithm implementation; Interrupt Srvc Routine (ISR) & sys event handling; working w/ eval & dvlpmt boards; Git version control; softw tracing & debugging using GDB or similar tools; oscilloscope & digital multimeter. Employer will accept any amount of grad coursework, grad research exp or exp w/ req'd skills. Base pay range for position is $184,662-$210,000. Actual base sal offered depends on variety of factors, which may incl as applicable, qualifications of indiv applicant for position, yrs relevant exp, specific & unique skills, level of edu attained, certs or other prof'l licenses held & loc in which applicant lives &/or from which they will be performing job. In addition to competitive base sal, position also elig for bonus & comprehensive bnfts pkg incl healthcare bnfts (med, dent & vision), paid med leave after 3 months employment, 401k plan w/ matching co. contributions, vac time, edu assistance, student loan assistance program, 80 hrs paid sick leave time annually & up to 12 wks paid parental leave after 6 months employment.
