Director of Housekeeping

A Faith-Based, Nonprofit, Short-Term Rehabilitation and Skilled Geriatric Care facility sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm, we've provided spiritually motived care for the elderly of Columbus for over 65 years. We are seeking a Director of Housekeeping.

Director of Environmental Services Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or the equivalent.
• Previous Housekeeping experience required.
• Previous Supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience in Long-Term Care preferred.

Director of Environmental Services Job Summary:

• Supervise Housekeeping staff.
• Prepare daily assignment schedules.
• Make daily rounds of Nursing Home to insure instructions and safety are followed.
• Instruct personnel in the use of equipment and cleaning methods.
• Train new employees, assign duties and closely supervise until fully trained.
• Recommend personnel actions such as transferring, discipline or termination.
• Maintain an inventory of cleaning materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Inspect equipment and furnishings such as beds, cabinets, chairs, screens, and fans and prepare requisition for maintenance.
• Inspect garbage disposal to confirm it meets safety, health, and sanitation regulations.
• Manage sufficient collection and distribution of linen and supplies.
• Keep record of areas that have been cleaned or painted.
• Oversee and supervise the Laundry Department in the absence of Laundry Supervisor.
