Job Description

Dalfen Industrial is looking for a Chief Accounting Officer to join its growing accounting department. The Chief Accounting Officer is the operations manager in charge of accounting. The CAO will be responsible for the accounting department, overseeing staff and administrative duties and ensuring that protocol is always being followed. Their focus includes regulatory compliance and practices.

Position Responsibilities

1. Oversee accounting staff.
2. Review all documentation and contracts to develop and improve internal controls.
3. Assist with quarterly financial reporting - including drafting and reviewing documents, ensuring quality, and administering strict timelines.
4. Manage transaction accounting, the closing process, and other financial controls.
5. Oversee General Ledger functions; assure accuracy, timeliness, and conformity with professional accounting standards and best practices in accordance with GAAP.
6. Partner with the CFO to determine accounting and tax implications for all material business decisions.
7. Act as a liaison to external auditing firms, while owning primary responsibility for the Company’s views on technical accounting matters.
8. Oversee tax compliance and strategy.
9. Work with senior management to ensure internal compliance.
10. Implement new procedures based on changes in regulatory laws.
11. Oversee REIT compliance of various funds.
12. Work with the fund controller to ensure delivery of fund F/S and related documents.

Skills & Experience

1. At least 7 years of experience in a senior position in accounting.
2. Thorough understanding of current compliance regulations.
3. Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
4. Ability to use a variety of accounting software.
5. Experience drafting reports and preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
6. Bachelor’s degree in accounting-related field.
7. Master’s in accounting preferred but not required.
8. Formal legal training in tax regulations preferred but not required.
