BRIDGE INSPECTION ENGINEER, INDIANAPOLIS

We are seeking a Bridge Inspection Engineer for our Indianapolis office.

The Bridge Inspection Engineer position offers excellent growth opportunities to become a project manager, handling multiple projects and clients.

Job duties include the following:

  • Perform bridge, small structure, and other types of inspections and complete any associated reports and load ratings.
  • Perform hand and software-supported bridge analysis and design computations.
  • Visit project sites locally and throughout Indiana and other Midwest locations to perform bridge and small structure inspections, verify existing conditions during design, provide construction support engineering, and meet with clients
  • Coordinate with other disciplines within the transportation department, including but not limited to survey, roadway, utility coordination, drainage, planning, and environmental.

Minimum Requirements for this Position

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT)
  • Capable of meeting with clients in person
  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong time management skills
  • A valid driver's license is required
  • 3 or more years of experience in bridge inspection
  • Qualified Team Leader – Bridge Inspector’s Reference Manual (FHWA NHI 12-049) Section 1.2.3

Additional Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Civil Professional Engineer (PE) license in any state
  • Bridge Inspection Team Leader Certification in any state, Indiana preferred.
