About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Automotive Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of our dealership group. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced automotive environment and has a strong background in accounting, financial planning, and dealership operations. You will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency while partnering with dealership leadership to support strategic financial goals.
Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting:
Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards.
Financial Analysis Strategic Planning:
Partner with dealership management to identify opportunities for increased profitability and improved financial performance.
Expense Management:
Monitor and analyze dealership expenses, implement cost-saving initiatives, and advise staff on budgeting and cost control.
Accounting Operations:
Ensure integrity and accuracy in all accounting functions including journal entries, sales transactions, and inventory management in compliance with GAAP .
Tax Compliance:
Manage all tax filings and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Cash Management:
Maintain effective systems for monitoring and optimizing cash flow, including forecasting and risk mitigation.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred .
Experience:
Proven experience in automotive dealership accounting is highly desirable .
Skills:
Strong knowledge of GAAP and applicable financial regulations
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and dealership accounting software ( CDK preferred )
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines
High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Work Schedule:
Hybrid – must be available to work onsite in Roanoke, VA part of the week.
